Nomadic Lounge

The launch of blog was delayed for a good few months because I couldn’t complete this paragraph. I’ve been creating personal websites since middle school for kicks with no real aim. So when I came up with the idea creating a blog, I wanted it to have a purpose and loyal fan base (assuming there are gazillion other blogs on the net). I must admit my inspiration came from a Saudi blogger (Ahmed Al-Omran) who ” writes about social issues in Saudi Arabia, with a special focus on freedom of expression, human rights and women’s rights.” I thought it would be cool to write about my travels, experiences, and opinions and share them with whoever cares to read them. Makes sense, one of the main reasons for leaving Detroit to study abroad was to burst out of my social bubble and gain a new perspective on life. Hence came the creation of Nomadic Lounge. A fitting title for a guy who is traveling through the desert trying to find a purpose to life (nomad) and the fact that i love to chill and sit in lounges with ambient music in the background. Maybe a perfect background to a stereotypical arabic movie background.

About Me

My name is Ammar Awaad and grew up in the suburb of Detroit. I made a life changing decision to study Medicine in a brand new university (Alfaisal University) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently I am a second year med student and have been in the “desert” for about 3 years. I am sure you’ll get a better feel of who I am with the progression of blog. If you do want to know more about me feel free to email or add me on facebook.
