About Me

My name is Ammar Awaad and grew up in the suburb of Detroit. I made a life changing decision to study Medicine at Alfaisal University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Currently I am a third year medical student and have been in the “desert” for about 4 years. I am sure you’ll get a better feel of who I am with the progression of this blog. Nomadic Lounge is about my travels, experiences,and opinions in a world far away from mine, yet closer than I know. One of the main reasons for leaving Detroit to study abroad was to burst out of my social bubble and gain a new perspective on life. Hence came the creation of Nomadic Lounge. A fitting title for a guy who is traveling through the desert trying to find a purpose to life (nomad) and the fact that i love to relax in lounges with ambient music in the background. Maybe a perfect setting to a stereotypical arabian night.
