The skyline of Riyadh has changed dramatically since I arrived 5 years ago. These a few shots I snapped up-top the balcony of the 11A restaurant in the Fasiliah Tower during the Eid firework show.

I already miss my friend Ziad who has moved to Ireland for a year to complete his studies. You might be wondering what does this have anything to do with this post. Not much really, we had a tradition to eat at a chinese restaurant every Wednesday after classes. During our last Chinese outing before his departure, we noticed these cute center pieces (salt and pepper shakers) in all Gulf Royal Restaurants. A Saudi man embracing his love, a Sadi lady draped in the traditional veil.
